Absolutely, no question about it. This is 5 star material. The BEST rap album (let alone double disc) to come out in a long, long time. Rap game needs more people like Nas.
With Streets Disciple Nas just keeps getting better. It's the same addictive flow but this time round he's bought the blues with him, and the album at times has a more jazzy, laid back feel, while still staying hard. Nas' father Olu Dara brings some nice jazz playing in on a couple of tracks and it suits Nas flow.
The first disc is typical Nas. It's all about the rhymes. Its definitely the harder disc with the jaw-dropping rhymes that make you say woh! Nas raps about social issues that are very real, and when you listen to this you'll understand the difference between this real rap and the stupid fluff 50 cent/chingy etc. drop. I'm not hating, i like some of that too, but never could it make me feel like this album can. The second disc on the other hand is the more levey disc. Its more about his love for Kelis and his daughter. Its the more jazzy/house/relaxy disc and i like it better than the first. The way that Nas can keep the bass and clean production yet mix it with the live feel of underground rap is amazing. He is a true musician, and an educated, smart rapper, as opposed to other rappers who grap a hot dre beat and yap over it.
Trust me, this is PURE MAGIC. You will NOT regret picking this up. If you liked God's Son you will absolutely LOVE this one.
