This is a must have album for all hip hop fans to add in there collection. I was one sided as far as the Nas vs. Jay-Z thing went. Obviously since Im writing this review I am a Nas fan, so bare with me as my views my be bias.
This is a great album. With songs that make you think, such as "Doo Rags", "Purple", and "No Ideas Original". The album contains the production of some of hip hop pioneer street hip hop producers such as, Premo, Alchemist, and others. This is a great album that not only appidimises, Nas as one of the greatest rappers of all time, but as the true succeeder of the lyrical architect himself Rakim. Some of the songs on here dont even have a chorus such as Purple just straight rhymes, in this song you get the feeling that he is just in the studio himself reading off some deep verses for on how he feels about things in general. Guided I am not a Jay-z fan but I respect Jay-Z, but at the same time, on this album you realize that Nas has the most substance or rather should I say, what he has to say wieghs heavy on the listeners thinking. Making the listener be more aware of thats around him.
