This album is impossible to rate (but I rated it five stars) because it is too good. The lyrics are simply genius and the beats are astounding and breathtacking (I like using big words to express my feelings). In "Doo Rags" there are some piano passages and Nas begins the album with an excellent track. He gets really mad in songs like "Blaze", "Drunk By Myself" and "U gotta Love It". He expresses his feelings towards his old man in "Poppa Was a Playa" in a very (I can't fing the word...)astounding way (I know I used the word astounding twice but there was no other word that could describe it better).
This album changed the way I live. I used to wake up at 6:50 am brush my teeth, wash my face and do whatever. Then I would have breakfast and walk to school. Now I wake up at 5:00 am and start listening to "Lost Tapes" untill 7am. Then I do what everybody does in the morning and have breakfast. Then I walk to school with my headphones on still listening to this amazing album. Do you see what I mean. It's hard to resist. My parents snatched this album out of my hands and threw it out of the window. They said I listened to it too much and they got mad. I went to look for it but I didn't fing it (someone must have taken it without knowing how attached I am to it). I bought a new one and I'm listenning to it 6 houres a day (In fact I'm listening to it right now). Please, if you're a fan of rap and specially of Nas then buy this CD. If you don't even know who Nas you should still buy this CD.
