Nas' lyrics on the entire album are on point. This work lyrically rivals some of his best work. No Ideas Original is the premier song here; sampling one of my favorite singers song, Barry White's I'm Gonna Love You Just a Bit More. Blaze A 50 is another known underground classic as well as Doo Rags. Everybody's Crazy has the most bumpable beat on the whole album and it sounds like he takes a few stabs at Rocafella on here without saying any names. Every song is good if not great; Purple, Nothing Lasts Forever, Poppa Was A Playa...the whole album.
Overall this Nas album is definitely worth owning. Nas' lyrics set an even higher standard for other New York rappers trying to come up. The production is top notch and there are no guest appearances...so that's right you get just Nas. The album isn't too long and the beats are varied so it doesn't bore me to death and on top of that Nas is a prolific writer. You should invest in the album...extremely poetic. Checc It out son!
