Nasty Nas is back!!! The Lost Tapes are even better than "Stillmatic"!!! This CD is loaded wit classic "Illmatic" like material that Nas fans have been waiting years for. I have to admit even though "Stillmatic" was tight I was a little dissapointed by some of the commercialized beats and I was afraid that Nas would never again come wit the legendary material he came up in the game wit. But damn! I copped "The Lost Tapes" and couldn't believe the classic material.Every track is original. Nas how did these not make your albums?!!! Nas might as well have called this The Real Stillmatic. Almost every track is off the hook:
1."Doo Rags" Probably the dopest track. Lyrics of a true rap legend. What's the woooord!!!
2."My Way" Nas tells 'bout the stuggle and originalnality that brought him in the game.
3."U gotta love It" The track title says it all.
4."Nothing Lasts forever" kind of sounds like 2. and 3. but is still off the hook.
5."No Ideas Original" One of the only bad tracks.The beat is wack yo!
6."Blaze a 50" The only other bad track.
7."Everybody's Crazy" Another crazy track by Nas. Contains a few shots at Young Hova. Definetly worthy of being on Stillmatic.
8."Purple" More classic material. Off the hook.
9. "Drunk by Myself" Another story about life in the projects.
10. "Black Zombies" Nice smooth beat. Nas changes up his flow and even sings on the hook.
11. "Poppa was a Playa" rivals Doo Rags as the CD's dopest track. Nas raps about his pops on a beat thats absolutely off the hook.
12. "Fetus" incredible bonus track. Nas raps about his life in his moms and his plans to hit to the world. ... of a concept Nas.
Even if you're not a Nas fan you'd be a damn fool not to cop this. The Lost Tapes is a masterpiece. The biggest downside of this album is that it is too short and Nas supossedly has loads more of lost unreleased tapes!!! Somebody better get they asss back to Queensbridge, find them and release more of these classic raps. God knows the rap world needs them!!! Also I wish Nas said what CD's they were cut from. Recognize: Nas is a hip hop legend!!! "God's Son" Dec 17. Hollaaaaaa!!!
