Damn. How much better NASTRADAMUS (and to a lesser extent, I AM...) would have been if some of these songs were included! THE LOST TAPES is truly for the Nas aficionado--11 terrific songs (including the bonus track "Fetus," in which Nas narrates his conception and birth) digitally remastered and packaged into one disc, even if some of them were already in circulation prior to its release...oh, what the heck?--get it. It also doesn't hurt that some of the hottest (if not the most well-known) hip-hop producers, most notably the Alchemist (e.g. "No Idea's Original") and L.E.S. ("U Gotta Love It") are on board to bless Nas with blazing tracks to rap over, whether he is reminiscing ("Doo Rags"), weaving a tale of money, betrayal and death ("Blaze A 50"), paying tribute to his father ("Poppa Was A Playa") or pondering over present social conditions ("Black Zombies"). A must-have in any Nas collection.
