Silver and Gold

One always has to listen to one of Neil Youngs new releases a few times before passing judgement on them. He has the unique ability to switch directions in his music and this may catch the casual listener off guard. Silver and Gold, as it turns out, is in my opinion, the best acoustic work NY has done to date. I don't know if it's because he writes and sings with more life under his belt, or if he's personally in a better place now. This CD is reflective, insightful and full of good feelings. But how many artist recording today can put you in the mood to welcome the change of a season, take in a big gulp of fresh air and notice the subtle difference of a September Sun and make you feel glad to be alive?. Neil Youngs acoustic music is transcendental that way. It is for me and I hope it is for you too!
