Neil Young welcomes you to Silver & Gold right away with "Good to See You" which sets the tone for the CD. Beautiful acoustic melodies accompany Young's reflections on love in its various forms; from the beauty of a perfect love ("Silver and Gold") to the strength of a "Razor Love" that will cut through any problem. Throughout the CD, Young expresses faith in love's power. Even the songs that don't quite hold the same appeal for me ("The Great Divide" Horseshoe Man") have lines that are memorable. Love is often the focus of popular songs; rarely is it served so well.
