Nelly can be known as one of the most prolific rappers in all of rap music right now. Not necessarily it being true that he is (lyrically hes not). However those on the lower educated chain that appeal to his music tend to think so, as well as most of america (who's stupid for this). He is a party anthemed, money driven artist and isnt a true artsmen. His style and material are repetitive with the E.I's overly spoken of in every couple songs. Hes kinda got going what Fabolous has got going. The continual announcing and shouting of what needs to not be. As Fabolous had always said, "F A B O L O U S" in his joints, Nelly has to say "E.I". He should consider coming up with something fresh and remix his perspective as to whats good in rap. His style is obnoxious, repetitive and really annoying. It may or may not be his fault, but commercial success has put his voice on the forefront of annoyance (if that makes any sense). He has been more outplayed (or to the equivelence of) Dr. Dre & Snoop's, "Aint nothin' But a G thang"; Britney Spears, "Hit Me Baby One More Time"; Micheal Jackson's, "Beat It", and others alike. His slang is corney, fake & queer all in one (Example: Herre, as opposed to here). He thinks his slang terminology is tolerable and exceptable and that we all should take him seriously as a vocalist. It is sad that white suburban kids buy into his stuff and purchase his cd's. MTV is like the twighlight zone, as it sucks today's youth into a trance & manipulates their minds into thinking what they are watching is whats right & just.

Now for the pleasant cd review -

The first single to promote the Da Derrty Versions Remix album & the soundtrack "Haunted Mansion" for the movie, "Haunted Mansion" starring Eddie Murphy was "Iz U". That track was as silly as it comes. It has the judge judy piano beat bouncing throughout the whole song making it as corny as jay-z sampling annie in "A Hardknock Life" (altho jay-z's was tight). Tipdrill is a track i do commend. Video's tend to create an image that make a song more desirable. The Tipdrill video created me to like this song because of its explicit revealing conduct. Nelly, Murphy Lee, Ali & the gang of 'Tics are smackin booty and acting out all their ghetto dreams in this steamy sex driven theme. Its just a display of what they do on their days off work. 3 girls in a tub, 10girls poolside, 5 others w/ money comin out their thongs all the while standin on 10" lifts. Too bad those who got lifes and work during the day cannot view this video when they get off. As the "Tipdrill" video is only on BET's late scheduled show, "BET's Uncut" and can only be seen at 12am throughout the morning. Other tracks on the cd are original classics remixed w/ a slight twist & some guest features. But who gives ugh what 'bout these remixes really? Only those who follow Nelly hardcore or those curious minds who wanna take a taste n' then come to find out their original skeptical approach to buying it was correct. Its strictly whack and shows if an artist can go platinum off this that the US really has disorder. Id suggest TLC's early work more then this!

Try DJ Quik if you like smooth G-Funk w/ a touch of elegance. He does great production and makes extremely nice beats. Quik can play the piano, produce, rap, and has an ear for talent. He produced tracks for 2pac's, "All Eyez On Me" and has done much production for Dr. Dre. He's fly, hes from compton, hes gangstafied in a real way.

For Dirty Souf rap i suggest TrillVille/Lil' Scrappy's release. That authentic south purely. Nelly is not even true downsouth. Thats like calling Scarface westcoast rap; it aint happenin'.
