Country Grammer was an enourmously popular album and a great debut album for Nelly that got him on the map with it's popular bouncy beats and catchy lyrics. It seems that "Nellyville" tries to be the successor to that trend set by "Country Grammer" so the problem wasn't how to please the fans but how to keep them...
And it seems as though the only people who like this are Nelly's diehard fans... While Country Grammer had nice pop beats, this album tries too hard to top it. "Hot in Herre" isn't a very catchy song at all. In fact the only thing I ever got out of that song was...well the chorus. The lyrics are meaningless and grotesque. The lyrics in many of these "songs" just don't flow like in "Country Grammer". You grow tired of many of the songs quickly... VERY quickly.
I wouldn't quite say this is "brainwashing" teenagers, that's just an excuse as to why the music is bad. There is no REAL excuse as to why this is bad. "Country Grammer" brought along creativety. This brings along... nothing.
So if you're a diehard Nelly fan you might as well pick this up. If you could bear Country Grammer but couldn't grow to love it you'll more than likely be a little displeased with this album.
