Nelly is the only artist in the whole rap genre who digs deep and presents his penetrating insights through subtle melodic, harmonic, rhythmic, and sartorial subterfuges. Most important of all, he is a truly transgressive artist who isn't afraid to expose what closeted nancies like "Triple Sis" and "Project Patricia" try so desperately to cover up with their phony tough-guy posing: That rap is essentially about gay love and homoerotic bonding. While the fake-tough machismo of Triple Sis and "X-Raped" clumsily masks a panicky fear of their own deep-down desire for male physical intimacy, Nelly playfully satirizes this genre's rabidly homphobic paranoia by filling his videos with impossibly voluptuous she-males who jiggle in mock-erotic "dances" that get all those clueless boy fans worked up into a leering adolescent frenzy. When the news finally reaches them, these wanna-be thugboys will FREAK OUT over what they've been beatin' to. It will be shock therapy on a grand scale, and genuinely subversive to boot. Because of this great artist's sly prank, many fans will some day realize their true selves and leave off the latent and start living blatant.

Long live Nelly, the only real genius in rap, the master satirist of our age!
