The first song i ever heard of Nick Cave was "There is a Light" from the Batman Forever Soundtrack. At first I was alittle takin' away from it because it was any kind of easy-listening stuff. The next was "Red Right Hand" which made it impossible for me to sleep and to listen to it at night. I thought it would be a good idea to buy this cd before any others just to see if he had any as good, or better stuff. I was very impressed by his deep sorrow and craziness. 'Mercy Seat' popped out at me because of the strong violin and piano. 'Henry Lee' and 'Where the Wild Roses Grow' are both hauntingly beautiful and very easy to lose yourself in them. I must say my favourite track on the cd would have to be 'The Ship Song' where you find a very hopeless Nick Cave being very honest in an absence (which you don't know what it is...could it be love?). I also can connect with "Nobody's Baby Now" which is a bitter-sweet melody about a man who lost his love. The one thing that impressed me about this collection is that you get a new favourite everyday. The songs never get old and they never lose their haunting sound that Nick Cave is a forte with...
