I'm wary of who I loan this CD to; I don't want certain people to get the wrong idea. Those with a sense of adventure will love this CD. Each song is a festival of murder. You'd think that would make the work a big downer, but it manages to titillate and keep your interest. A few spots drag (maybe a verse or two less of a few songs, particularly Crow Jane and O'Malley's Bar, might have helped) but the music, vocals, and lyrics are otherwise darkly compelling. Highly recommended, but for Nick Cave novices, perhaps start at Let Love In.
