i'm going to make this short and sweet. this album is no less than a lyrical work of art. i was going through some very emotional times in my life and listening to this cd has helped me more than one could ever imagine. when listening to this album, i felt as if Trent Reznor was talking directly to me. as if he knew what was happening in my life at the time. when i was really depressed, i would listen to this album and it felt like he was next to me saying, "it's all gonna be alright". i needed to know that SOMEONE was going through the same thing that i was going through. and listening to his voice and his lyrics brought me consoling that i couldn't find with family or friends along with the feeling of had said a million words without saying a thing..... i can not recomend this album enough to someone who trouble coping and thinks that it will never get any better. this NIN album is VERY different from anything that i have heard from the band. the music has matured and the edge that the lyrics had from "The Downward Spiral" have toned down into a MUCH more heart felt album. despite the PA on it, which will turn a lot of people off, IS needed, but barley at all. my fav songs are (first disk)#1,2,4,5,6,9,10,and 12. (second disk)#2,4,8,9,and 10. the song, "the Great Below" is worth the cost of the album alone.
