flawed, but a worthwhile buy

this album (and NIN era) falls short of what i'm guessing most long-time fans were expecting. the album, though not staying true to NIN's previous material, is worth buying if not for its 4 or 5 songs which truly are excellent. having cut out the more pathetic songs, this would have made a phenomenal single-CD release. as it stands, it is a little disappointing to TDS-era freaks like me, but nevertheless the best music to be heard in years.
