Return of NoDoubt

I love this album. It has been criticized for its simplistic and popish lyrics, but this is amazing pop/rock music, some of the best released in years. It garnered 3 number 1 Hits and a Grammy. It is a drastic change from Return of Saturn and Tragic Kingdom forsure. The band in all its pre release media made it clear that this Album was going to be fun and simple. And they suceeded with flying colors. Its great pop music. The album also has alot more to offer then just those fun/simple tunes,It also has a few great rock tunes( produced by the amazing Ric Ocasek) , an amazing dark new wave song called Detective that could fit on Return of Saturn LP, Hella Good is an awesome hardhiting dance song that has alot of rock elements to it(produced by Neptunes) and finally a great duet with Prince himself (Waiting room). Giving it 2 stars just because its different then there rock/ska backgrounds is foolish. The band sought to try something radical and new, while returning to creating fun music compared to the depressing but classic Return of Saturn CD. It is an amazing pop record with rock, regge and new wave undertones. This is what Pop music should be, not the trashy, bubble gum pop in recent years.
