No Doubt

The Singles 1992-2003

Wow -- they are so good!

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
Putting this album in recently during an hour-long drive, I was pleased and surprised to remember how GOOD No Doubt are. The new track, "It's My Life," (a cover of Talk Talk's 80's hit) is a fitting addition to the rest of the material. And the earliest of the singles, "Trapped in a Box" provides an interesting glimpse at the raw talent this band possessed even before "Tragic Kingdom" took off. What makes this collection so irresistible, even to those who own No Doubt's albums, is the biographical content in the material, here brought together into a wonderful and strange chronology. With songs this personal, juxtaposition is everything and this collection is nicely organized with that in mind, I believe. Overall, a great introduction for fans who might only own "Rock Steady" and a necessary addition for older fans who want "It's My Life."
