No Doubt treasures unveiled....but there should be more

For as many years as No Doubt has been around, especially in the public eye in form or another, you'd think they would have had TWICE as many hits. If you seriously break down this disc's contents in the form of "hits", you have: Just A Girl, It's My Life (a GREAT remake of this Talk Talk hit), Hey Baby, Sunday Morning, Hella Good, Underneath It All, Running, Spiderwebs, Simple Kind of Life, Don't Speak and Ex-girlfriend. That's 11 hits in 11 years - doesn't make sense, does it?

I think what happened with No Doubt can summed up in two words: Gwen Stefani. Here comes this young, elegant and sophisticated bomb shell that the world had not seen since Marilyn Monroe - yes...Marilyn Monroe. Sure, there have been other "beauties", but not like Gwen. Platinum blonde hair, a Rita Hayworth face and a supremely unqiue voice vaulted this grunge band lead to stardom. Plus, her marriage to a very sexy, Gavin Rossdale of Bush, created a mega couple that kept the media swirling and No Doubt in the public limelight. Also, they have capitalized on the video market. Their videos are very stylish, fun to watch and near an addiction status!

Are their records good? You bet! I think the REAL test for No Doubt will be their singles collection titled "The Singles 2004-2015". I really hope they continue to succeed. They have so many elements working for them...I hope they continue on with great success! I enjoyed this disc so much, I just ordered the box set "Boom Box" that has all the videos, etc. I'll review that once I've had a chance to listen/watch - should be GREAT!
