Great collection by a great band. No Doubt was really a breath of fresh air in the angst & alienation music scene of the `90's and their music still sounds fresh unlike the grunge from those days. Their influence represents all that was good about the new wave/ska sounds of the `80's while ignoring the bad. Gwen Stefani has a great voice and the band knows how to create a good hook as well as anyone. I hope the success of Gwen's recent release doesn't break up this band because there is some great musical chemistry here. One of the biggest challengers in the business of making hits is to be cool and successful at the same time and No Doubt manages to pull that off.

This is a solid 15 song collection that includes all the lyrics as well as individual liner notes on each song. The one new song is a great cover of "It's My Life", originally done by the one-hit-wonders Talk Talk. Other personal faves are "Just A Girl" which just kicks ass, the sexy dance tune "Hella Good" and my #1 fave "Don't Speak" which holds up even after 1,000,000 repeat listens which is also true of this entire album. Not a bad song to be found anywhere. My one complaint is lack of chronological order. There is no rhyme or reason to the placement of the songs. I will never understand why so many collections make this error.
