The way No Doubt plays with and weaves the different song styles, using the vast variety of instruments, like the steel drums in spiderwebs, the ragtime piano and horns used to brilliant effect in excuse me mr., the new wave keyboard sounds in just a girl, the sitar in hey you, the wah-wahs and horns in different people, the beautiful turnofthecentury-style music sappiness of the climb, the raggae keyboards in sunday morning with the pulsating riff, the disco guitar and clapping in you can do it, the satanic symphonic roaring in tragic kingdom... what was i saying? man! and the various horns used in every song along with all the other ones! and it is very impressive how the gorgeous california colors tinted into the photos of the jacket and back truly define every single song. you could play any one of the songs while looking at the cd cover and theres a connection. and the balance of colors is just genius... its a beautiful cd, both musically and visually, and there really hasnt been any cd as perfect as this that i have ever heard or seen. LONG LIVE NO DOUBT!!
