This was just their debut. Most of the good bands around mature, grow. Most of them get criticized for it. Why? I don't know -really-. This is the beggining of a great band, and like the band itself, it is amazing. No Beatles-remaking here: this is a sound that shocked the world, the sound of a very creative mind with some good musical influences (Noel Gallagher). How's that sound? Well, imagine some rocking guitars combined with cymbal-driven drums and the arrogant and irresistible vocals of the hysterical Liam Gallagher. A lot of cigarretes and alcohol through the album, but mostly fun and un-understandable lyrics that talk about a girl called Elsa who's "into Alka Seltzer, and sniffs it through a cane in a supersonic train" and stuff like that. Really, really, a classic of 90's rock.
