Great debut

Though they are probably more known these days for their outrageous antics and love of all alcholic beverages, at the end of the day, Oasis are just a great band, displayed perfectly by "Defintely Maybe".
Though, argueably, not as good as its followup, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory", Oasis never sounded as raw and alive as they did on this record. Noel Gallagher's anthemic songwritting matched with Liam's vocals, he is after all one of th best rock singers ever, is pop music heaven, as heard on the anthems "Live Forever", "Supersonic", "Shakermaker" and, of course, "Rock 'n' ROll Star".
At one point, Oasis was the biggest rock band in the free world. Listening to "Definitely Maybe", it is pretty apparent why.
