Oasis' most mature album, but not their best

'Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants' is the most technically sophisticated LP Oasis have ever released. This is not the place to start if you're an Oasis beginner (What's The Story, Morning Glory is, obviously), but it is a satisfying musical product. Oasis expand their sonic boundaries and turn in a pretty eclectic mix. Not a great album by any means, but is a grand improvement over the pretentious ramblings of "Be Here Now." They still ripoff their Britpop predescesors, but manage to make it a little less obvious than on past LPs. Not a bad buy at all.
