I've been a long-time fan of the Offspring. A really long-time fan of them. I remember when my friends and I went out to buy Smash and Ignition when they first came out. Ever since the tragic disappointment of Americana, I didn't know if I could ever listen to Offspring again. It was like they had gone from their Punk style to go into Alternative. Not that I have anything against Alternative, it's just I favored these guys for their Punk styling.

Yes, I know some of you are yelling and screaming at me right now, saying that they're still somewhat resembling their former selves, but still. Some of their songs do have their moments of Punk, but give or take, this has turned into Alternative.

Why did I give it two stars if I was truly disappointed with it? No matter what, I'm still an Offspring fan, even if I am rather disappointed with many of the songs on this album. Nevertheless, they're still one of my all-time-favorite bands, and the song "Vultures" is addictive, no matter what I care to say.

Out of all my friends, I was the only one that bought the new Offspring album, 'cause they were -that- disappointed with Americana. I gave them another chance, but it blew my mind that the entire album had barely any semblance to the Offspring that we knew and loved back in the day.

I recommend the other Offspring albums such as Ignition, Smash, the self-titled, and Ixnay.. but the last two aren't truly worth it for the old-school Offspring fans.
