Offspring

Ixnay on the Hombre

Their Finest Hour?

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
Offspring was on a tough mission: Having to live up to the bestselling Smash. But they somehow succeeded.
Ixnay on the Hombre is not original in any way, but it does posses an energy that will rub off. The simple and powerful riffs, is a sure way to get charged up.
The Offspring as most punkbands address problems in our society, and they do it in an easy to understand way, without the use of fancy words and phrases. The influence from legends Bad Religion is evident on Ixnay on the Hombre, but that can only be positive.

As a conclusion I would say that Ixnay on the Hombre is just a notch better than Smash, although not by much. It is also Offsprings best album to date, something they never surpassed. Their next album Americana was a sad example of how brilliance can regress. Sadly changing to a big record label had a bad influence. But let us remember Offspring for what it once was.
