On Totally Hot the styles of material range from pop-rock,semi-country, to slow love balladry. There are hints and traces of R & B but nothing really emerges (Little More Love)to full blown Motown sound.A pity because she does have the vocal ability to belt out with the soul tunes.The only quirk I found with the release are her screeching high notes ( I thought it was a saxophone at first),which she holds for a while, towards the end of Please Don't Keep Me Waiting.But hey, what's a little screeching in comparison to the rest of the finesse she offers. This album was totally and truly amazing for 1978 (during her Grease period, no less)!...
