Ozzy Osbourne

Blizzard of Ozz

Great Album...

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (8/10)
Even though they did re-recorded this album but it doesn't sound that much different and I understand that people come down hard because of it, but the positive side of the re-recorded album is the liner notes. But all in all Ozzy Osbourne sure can keep on kicking ...after being booted out of his previous band Black Sabbath and they would go through a series of lineup changes album after album.
I Don't Know
The opening cut has a creepy intro and it turns into a mid paced rocker with excellent guitar playing by Randy Rhoads, Ozzy really shines with this album. 10/10
Crazy Train
This song is one of Ozzy Osbourne's signature songs and it still gets heavy duty classic rock airplay and this song is about mental illness, and that would be the same thing for Black Sabbath's Am I Going Insane (Radio) which isn't nearly as good as this song. 10/10
Goodbye to Romance
This is Ozzy's first solo ballad and this song is about him leaving Black Sabbath, not as great as the first two songs but far from filler. 8/10
Dee -instrumental-
Randy Rhoads went onto do a song about his mother by the same name, interesting song. 6/10
Suicide Solution
Sadly, this song became best known for the tragic suicide of a young teenager in California and Ozzy got sued for it, but Ozzy claims that this song was about the death of former AC-DC frontman Bon Scott. 9/10
Mr. Crowley
This song would be another one of Ozzy's signature songs and it could've easily been another song for Black Sabbath (the pre-Technical Ecstasy era), I love the intro and the guitar playing by Randy Rhoads. 10/10
No Bone Movies
Many people claim that this was the weakest song for Ozzy Osbourne's solo debut album but I think that this song is a classic and this song is about porno addiction, one of Ozzy's strongest vocals up to this point. 10/10
Revelation (Mother Earth)
Not one of the better songs from the Ozzy Osbourne/Randy Rhoads era but far from bad. 7/10
Steal Away (The Night)
A mid paced rocker and not much to say about this one. 7/10

Bonus Track:
You Lookin' At Me, Lookin' At You
A good song and it's a bit unfortunate that it couldn't been on the original release but it's a great song. 9/10

It's hard to believe that guitarist Randy Rhoads had to leave the world so soon due to a tragic plane crash and he was one of the best guitarists in rock/metal history and I also hear that Ozzy Osbourne really enjoyed being around Randy and that's something we couldn't say about Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi (which he was a difficult man to work for and the two never got along with each other). Long live Randy Rhoads!!!
