I know everyone is giving these new remasters bad reviews, but personally I think they sound amazing. No, this is not the original Diary of a Madman, and yes the drum and bass tracks have been re-recorded by Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin. That aside, SO WHAT? The sound quality is excellent and much higher than that of all previous versions of the album. I think that these new versions of the albums breathe new life into them and give them a fresh, modern sound. If you buy these new remasters not expecting them to sound EXACTLY LIKE the original versions and listen to them for what they are, they are great sounding and still excellent albums. Although I have heard all previous versions of this and the other new remasters, I guarantee that someone who has never heard the original version of this album would find no fault in it whatsoever. The only reason people are giving these new remasters a bad review is because they are stuck in the past and do not believe it is possible to improve on a classic. They believe that if something is changed at all then it is no longer good. That is not true and I believe the sound of these albums has been greatly improved upon. Lastly, in all honesty, who listens to Ozzy Osbourne to hear his drummer and bass player? Ozzy and Randy Rhoads are the true stars of these albums and are what make them so special, not the background noise of the drum and bass players!
