Ozzy Osbourne

No More Tears

Strong album, though far from the best

After the underrated masterpiece No Rest For The Wicked, Ozzy went through sheer hell. He was once again being sued for his music supposedly leading to suicides of teenagers. His drinking problem was at an all time high. While drunk at one point he nearly killed his wife. Despite it all, he ended up back in the studio, along with Zakk Wylde, Randy Castillo, and Bob Daisley, and they gave us this great album. To make things all the more interesting, Motorhead's main man Lemmy Kilmister co-wrote four tracks on this album (those ones are marked with LK.) Read on to see why it's such a sweet album.

-Mr. Tinkertrain: Hard rocker with excellent vocal usage. A

-I Don't Want To Change The World (LK): Hard rocker with a "hair metal" sound in the verses, and killer vocals in the chorus. A+

-Mama, I'm Coming Home (LK): Ballad with an epic sound. Enough said. A

-Desire: (LK) Mid-fast tempo hard rocker. The chorus is tough to beat, combining melodic and heavy stuff. A

-No More Tears: Long and epic track with a killer guitar solo after the second verse. This is a REAL version, not that blasted radio edit from The Ozzman Cometh. A+

-S.I.N.: Lighter hard rocker with its emphasis on vocal delivery. This one, with its lighter sound, features a killer chorus. A

-Hellraiser (LK): Here Ozzy combines glam with his own style, making one of his best tracks ever. A+

-Time After Time: A ballad that's not as soft as Ozzy's others, this proves a most interesting track. A

-Zombie Stomp: Heavy hard rocker with mid-fast tempo. The chorus, with its excellent vocals, is the high point. A

-A.V.H.: A fairly generic hard rocker, the melodic chorus saves it from being "just another Ozzy song." A

-Road To Nowhere: Lighter and melodic rocker which is still good. A-

BONUS TRACKS

-Don't Blame Me: Best Ozzy song ever? This hard rocker is the best part of Ozzy's "persona song" collection. A+

-Party With The Animals: Generic Ozzy rocker, but far from bad. A-

This proved to be a very good album, showing Ozzy made the conversion from the 80's to the 90's very well, something many artists didn't. Eleven years later, we still look upon this album as one of Ozzy's high points. 100 years from now, people will probably still be rocking out to this album.

Another Great album, yet missing al ittle something

This album didn't disappoint me in any way aside from the fact that, even though I couldn't quite place my finger on it, was weak in certain [ ... read complete review ]
