This is definately Ozzy's most underrated album. He teamed up with glam-rock produced Ron Nevison,(who produced Heart's self-titled album a year earlier, and Kiss' CRAZY NIGHTS the next), and the result is interesting. The title track opens with Castilo's pounding drums, and fades out with Lee's yawning guitar. Jake E. Lee wasn't as good as Randy Roads, but he definately has talent. "Secret Loser" isn't that good of a song, but "Never Know Why" is much better. It slower fades in Lee's guitar, before the drum track kicks the song off. "Thank God For The Bomb" is a rather lousy track, but "Never" makes up for it. "Never" is my favorite song on the album, beginning with a heavy guitar solo, and rolling out with a melody that matches Ozzy's echoing vocals perfectly. "Lightening Strikes" is a definate glam song, as is "Shot In The Dark, " and both are verycatchy. This album was simply an experiment that Ozzy did in the glam metal era, and it shows his ability to alter his style of music and still produce good material. Judas Priest experimented with a glam rock album this same year called TURBO, and it did very well. This Ozzy album is worth the buy for any fan of 80's metal. Add it to your collection today.
