Ozzy Osbourne

The Ultimate Sin

A very solid album

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (10/10)
This is the first album by Ozzy I bought, and I bought it primarily because of the beautiful cover art by Boris Vallejo. It quickly became one of my favorite albums. The tour for this album became the first rock concert I was ever to see live. The opening act was Metallica, with Cliff on bass right before he died (and I ran right out and started buying their albums as well). Of course this album has stronger and weaker songs--Stronger: Killer of Giants (amazing), Thank God for the Bomb, Shot in the Dark, The Ultimate Sin, Never Know Why. Weaker: the rest. But none of the songs are skip-over-to-get-to-the-next weak. This one of the few albums that I can listen to all the way through. The album contains great melodies and Jake E. Lee is at his best with the construction of his solos (I listened to some of his solo stuff and was very disappointed). I am referring to the album version of this, though (long live vinyl!)- I have no idea if these remastered versions are any good, but from what others are saying your best bet is to go to the used record store.
