Far Beyond Driven in my opinion is a pretty good album and very heavy too, but Pantera could have done a better job. There are four reasons why I give this album three stars instead of four or five. First, this album has less melodic songs than the previous releases. Second, I think the guitars in this album sound so distorted that it is not possible to hear all the notes that are played. The production isn't great either. And fourth, there are some songs on this album that are terrible. 5 Minutes Alone Throes of Rejection, Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills are terrible songs and most of the song 25 Years is boring except the last 1 and a half minutes. The best songs on this album are Strength Beyond Strength, Becoming, Slaughtered and Shedding Skin. The remaining songs are pretty good. For any person who enjoys listening to heavy metal with slower guitars and less melody, this is a great album. For people who are looking for an album with lots of melody and technique, this is the wrong album to listen to. This is a pretty good album, but Pantera could do better.
