Pantera

Reinventing The Steel

The End of The Line

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (4/10)
Pantera, for many, signified the integrity of the heavy metal movement in America, long after it had been declared dead. After bands like Metallica and Megadeth abandoned the genre, Pantera stood firm, and delivered, both in the studio and live. Their final effort, as it turns out, would not be the best chapter in the Pantera story.

This album resembles a band attempting to sound like Pantera. Few tracks are able to carry themselves, and it makes for an overall weak album. The dynamics and variety of previous albums is absent here, again pointing to the idea that Pantera was trying to be Pantera. The music does not sound natural, but it does sound forced.
