Reinventing the Steel is the latest album from quite possibly the heaviest band ever, Pantera. With this album I don't know if you can say that Pantera went back to their roots but this album sounds like it could be the followup to Vulgar Display of Power. This album is a lot better than their last two, the band sounds very tight and vocally Phil Anselmo's at the top of his game even though he doesn't really sing. This album proves many things, one thing being that Pantera never sold out even though it costed them their popularity, and that they are one of the most talented bands around today. Dimebag Darrell's guitar playing is great, Rex Brown's bass playing is extremely solid, and Vinnie Paul proves that he's one of the best drummers ever.

Musically all of the songs follow the same type of mold, they are all brutally heavy with great guitar solos, insane drumming, and screaming vocals. Since there's only ten songs on the album it leaves no room for fillers, in other words every song on it is great. The best ones are Goddamn Electric(featuring Kerry King of Slayer), Yesterday Don't Mean S***, Revolution is my Name, Uplift, and I'll Cast A Shadow. This album is a must have for any metal fan.
