OK, what more do I have to say that Vulgar Display Of Power had Billboard Chart topping hits? This was so heavy, so much heavier that Cowboys From Hell and remains the one metal album that every metal band must pass the grade against if they ever want to make it the business. This is the album that made metal popular. This is the album that just shoved a shared of music's jagged edge right up the alternative and hip hop that was dominating the music scene at the time of its release. See, the problem with this album is, you can't just listen to one song. Start in the middle, start at the end or right from the beginning, there is no way you can keep you rhands off the buttons and put on A New Level first, then right to walk, cranking it up, pissing off the neighbors and putting a pain in your neck from just getting into the music. Then you slow it down a bit with This Love because your neck can't take anymore, then Phil belts out "You keep this..." the sounds just come clawing into you brain. Fucking Hostile is the hardest song ever. No Good (Attack the Radical) just attacks you, right from the start, just so loud and so fast and so hard. By Demons Be Driven is slow and hard and eeep and dark and Hollow is just such a balls out rocking tune that this album remains one of the hardest ever and gets my highest recommendation.
