Pantera are undeniably one of the leaders of the heavy metal scene today. All of their 5 studio albums support this claim, and if you want to get started with Pantera, this is the way to go. VDOP is one of the "must-have" albums of heavy metal. Though I feel myself that the Great Southern Trendkill was their greatest album, many feel that this is the one, and with good reason.

The high spots of this album are found at the beginning and the end (which is the case with most of Pantera's albums). The first 5 tracks are all classic metal tunes. Walk is arguably the anthem of heavy metal today. The last 2 tracks are also really good, especially Hollow, which shows that Phil can sing as well as scream (which he does best on Hostile and This Love).

If you are a fan of heavy music and don't own this album, I don't know where you have been. It is without a doubt one of those albums that will always be remembered as a heavy metal masterpiece.
