This is a great record. I am a metal fan, but I get disheartened by bands who have good backing tracks, and lousy vocals where the singer simply screams or grunts in an attempt to sound like satan. These guys get away with it. The vocal style suits them, its not there just for the sake of sounding evil. Anselmo doesn't grunt just to let you know that he is tougher than you are, it just works. If you have the intelligence to realize that this record is more than another big-balled heavy metal band, you will get many years of enjoyment out of it.
