i'm gonna put it simple: if you like metal with a goth slant, them this is most definetly for you..but even if you don't, don't pass out the opportunity of listening to this amazing work: paradise lost are really one of a kind, they've been thru death/doom metal in their early days, but after the album "gothic" (1991) they began moving towards a more goth-rock approach (i, for one didn't like their first 2 albuns, so for me it was a welcoming change of sound) and "draconian times" is the culmination of that process that included my other two favorite albums by them: shades of god(1992) and icon(1993)...after "draconian times" the band decided to pursue a more electronic direction (that resulted in the so-so "one second", but that's another story..)..
"draconian.." is a very emotional album, full of guitar hooks that will stay in your head for years and holme's voice sounds really good...for those who like their music heavy and with meaning,this album is awesome...really: buy it and treasure it..
