After really enjoying Draconian Times I thougt there is no risk in buying Paradise Lost's previous album, and I was right. Although this is not as good as Draconian Times, this album is excellent. Actually I don't know many album which surpass Draconian Times, it is an amazing album. Anyway like I wrote before this album is almost as good as Draconian Times, almost every track is good. Vocalist Nick Holmes, who wrote the lyrics, does great vocal work, he does sound much like "And Justice For All" era James Hetfield. The lead guitarist Greg Mackintosh (hope I spelled his name right) who wrote the music also does a great job. This album is not fast, it is heavy, I guess that's why they call it doom metal. The lyrics are interesting but I had a hard time understanding what they are about, it happens to me a lot of times, I don't really like hidden messages because I don't understand them, but they are interesting.
I recommend this album to anyone who likes heavy and dark music.
