Their best work ever!

"Icon" is the breakthrough album of Paradise Lost, that marked their Change from Doom/Death to Gothic and rocking music. It is by far their most complete work and the place to start when you are getting into Paradise Lost. Many Albums that come out today carry heavy influences of "Icon", so it's also an important record for the musical devellopment in the Gothic/Metal/Rock scene. But at first, this is one of the best Albums I ever heard, and I like all the other stuff from Paradise Lost too. There is not one weak song on the whole Album, everyone has it's specific atmosphere and message. It's just an act of logical that they never did an album in the same vain again. As I said, all the songs are great, but some need to grow on you. For a first-listen I would recommend "Remembrance", "True Belief", "Christendom" and "Widow". I must admit that nowadays, this sounds a little dated ( so what? Metallica sound dated on everything they do recently ). It is still a masterpiece of it's own. A BIG recommodation, you can do nothing wrong whoever you are, if you buy this album.
