From NME.com, April 14, 2003: McCartney has contributed a song to a charity album released today, 'Hope', the proceeds of which will go to War Child. Speaking of the conflict in Iraq, where cluster bombs were used, he said that "time will tell" if US led coalition were right to use force on the Iraqi regime. He concluded: "I felt that the UN all agreed that Saddam should be made to disarm. They didn't agree on how to do it...a lot of people agree that there are other ways to do it. I don't want anyone to fight anyone."
Seems like his "Freedom" song is what a lot of people thought it was all along . . . .
