Arise Sir Paul!
Review Score:

(10/10)
This is a brilliant album by Macca!!!!
I must admit when I first listened to it, I was a little bit disappointed, but I fell into the trap that so many do, expecting EVERY song to be a 'Yesterday'!!
However when I played it 2 or 3 times more, I started to realise why he's the still the No.1 Pop Writer.
The sheer variety is a delight to behold, from the ballads like 'From A Lover To A Friend' and 'Your Loving Flame', to the Instrumental 'Heather', to the rocker 'Rinse the Raindrops' and closing the album with the anthem 'Freedom'. And all in ONE album!!!
My personal favourites are 'From A Lover To A Friend', 'Heather' and 'Freedom'. Each of these brings out a different emotion and you don't have to be driving in rain for it to grab your attention.
Paul has obviously put his heart and soul into producing 'Driving Rain', and the lyric exposes a lot of what he has going on in his life both in the recent past and now.
Some of his best ever work has come about through events in his personal life, you need only look at 'Yesterday' and 'Let It Be' to name but two.
The other songs on this album all have a part to play, like the funky-sounding 'Tiny Bubble' and the dark 'Don't Say A Word'.
All which combines to produce an album that will appeal a wide range of musical tastes.
Congrats Paul on a marvellous album - arise, and here's to the next 40 years of pop masterpieces!!!
