This album is a surpise.I did not buy Flaming Pie (the title maybe the reason why).I did not buy Run Devil Run (it didn't sound like too much fun). But I did buy this one! (Fun, Fun Fun). Seriously, this caught me totally by surprise. I bought it on cassette which is cool because it has two sides. Side 1 is all good. Even the ballads don't suck. The words are fine. Paul's songs have ALWAYS BEEN LIKE THIS! Actually they've often been worse.Go buy the new Dylan album and try to listen to it 10 times in a row (I don't think so). This album, however, bears repeated listening. Good Vocals.Good Bass.Good Guitar.Good Songs. If you think this album has bad lyrics go listen to some Lenny Kravitz. Did Band On The Run have good lyrics? How 'bout Jet? Side 2 is a little different (expiremental?) but it also ROCKS (relatively speaking) in spots.My ONLY problem with this album is that it may be 15 minutes too long. Riding Through Jaipur is a throwaway but it doesn't suck.The ten minute song may be Paul's Most Rockingest Song Ever but he shoulda wrote a few more versus.Heck even Freedom ain't that bad, especially coming after that noisefest. All in all a great album. DON'T MISS IT
