I have revised this review. It really is a 3.5 stars but I'll give it a 4 because Amazon should have the ½ star system. I'll blame them. This CD is now digging the old McCartney hooks into me. I've realized that I now like "She's Given Up Talking" for the same reason I fell for "Monkberry Moon Delight". The lyrics are so stupid you eventually feel some connection to them. So there you have it. For all of the "12345's...", "Yappa Yappa Yap's" and "runcible tunes", this CD suddenly sounded great on my portable CD player today. You know, those little speakers that you can hook up to your CD walkman? The batteries are out on the speakers and they still play but unamplified, but now the music sounded funky, almost like an old-time mono mix circa the Spring of 1973. Is it me, or does it sound like deceased Linda is still doing backup vocals on this CD? I thought I heard her on Run Devil Run, and now on the song "Heather". Maybe it's the "Wings" wall of sound. Anyway, I am tired of overanalyzing and overcriticizing Paul's work. This CD is well worth the money. I still contend Paul could have shaved off a few songs and had a stellar CD, but hell. Aren't we all over-indulgent sometimes? His bass playing sound carries Driving Rain single-handedly. His voice is still awesome, and Lonely Road f-ing rocks. So silly or not, I'm giving this 4 stars. ALL THE WORLD'S A TINY BUBBLE !!!!!!
