A loose collection of various songs

Paul is very much alive and enjoying every moment of it. Songwriting, as well as recording, definitely gives him a kick, but alas, these days it seems to be all about the process, not the result. And it's just a bit too obvious. One can find some of the lyrics touching, some of the melodies sweet, but if the best of his previous works (Ram, Band on the run, Flowers in the dirt) were really and truly albums stylishly delivering Macca's then current approach to songwriting, Driving Rain is just a loose collection of various songs. I listened to it a few times and it was nice. Smooth. Sleek. But somehow I don't feel like loading it ever again.
Yes, Paul is very much alive, he's almost bursting with enery. His music is not.
