Superb, when understood properly

This is possibly the single greatest album ever because it is so obviously written as an album, a single story. Understood properly, it traces the story of his marriage, from the initial meeting and seduction, through rocky times and self-analysis and falling apart,through those occasional points of contact and then finally the reflection that comes with hindsight.

Train in the Distance is incredibly profound - not a word is wasted - every single line impacts upon the scene he is trying to set. One of the most beautiful songs Simon has written.

This album is only rated anything other than excellent by those who fail to listen to the profundity of the lyrics and subtlety of introspection found within the music.
