AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING

It literally took me a few years to really get properly into this album, and I was a definite Paul Simon fan. Now I'm quite convinced that it's his very best work, and among the greatest recordings of the 20th century. I've not too much to say about it, but for two things:

I. Spirit Voices: it's totally awesome that Paul Simon - my man - recorded a song about drinking ayahuasca.

II. The Cool, Cool River: my favorite song from the album, it features the most amazing, quiet bridges. Oddly enough, I think this one sounds like it's describing Mohammed Atta and his crew. Anger and no one can heal it slides through the metal detector...the cool, cool river sweeps the wild, wide ocean. The entire song sound like the sentiment of a raging, disaffected man intent on destroying from the inside the "wild wide ocean" of forces much greater than him. That's my .02.
