Pearl Jam

Binaural

Their weakest album, but still many good tracks

Review Score: StarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStarStar (6/10)
While "Yield" was their comeback to more seventies rock style,Pearl jam on "Binaural" has lost themself a bit.the whole album sounds like they had no real idea what atmosphere to create.even on "No code" the variety was a nice suprise, but here it is too chaotic.songs like "God's dice" are good but not as good as we could expect from pearl jam...
Stone Gossard and Mike McCready are still roaring hard on guitars,Eddie's vocals are powerful so what's going on?
maybe the fault is that the melodies that were so interesting on previous albums here are just normal...even there are some more pop-styled hits here ("light years")...
But still like on every Pearl jam album some songs from here are simply making "Binaural" worth buying.these are marvelous "of the girl" that has a Hypnotising bluesy riff and a driving melody, rocking "Evecuation",dark ballad "Nothing as it seems" and amazing "Insignificance"...the other songs from here are a typical pearl jam stuff
this is not a bad album, but the weakest ones from their rich discography.
