Great, but not the greatest...

Although I truly believe this is a great piece of artistic-crossing-over-to-commercial work, I can't give it a 5 star review due to my personal taste of most of Gabriel's career at large..it's only relative. I love the "no cymbals" approach to the percussion parts, and believe me, I LOVE all the different influences he brings into the landscape for the first time - and "Shock The Monkey" will perhaps be one of my fave commercial efforts - I would pick the 'Car', 'Scratch' and 'Melt' albums over this one...Pete's voice DOES begin to change into a somewhat deeper, more 'groveling' voice (though still excellent). And naysayers, it's not a diss...still worth buying, still worthy of supporting. Enjoy.......
