As a long time, dedicated fan of Phil Collins solo work, as well as with Genesis - Face Value is the definitive Phil Collins album. The story behind the writing of this first solo album lends only further to the appreciation of the stunning musical brilliance within. Though the rest of Phil's solo works are all great in their own respects, Face Value is the very best of Phil's solo work - as following years see Phil Collins solo career as well as with Genesis, usher him into worldwide popularity of phenomenal proportions. The only other Phil album that is comperable in its tone and emotional depth is Both Sides ('93) and is highly recommended as well.
